We are so excited to have Short Story UNC’s resident writers Grace Stroup, Youna Fradin, Katie Leonard join us in reading their work at Epilogue next week! These talented writers’ work have been featured in the several short story dispensers scattered across UNC-Chapel Hill, one of which resides in our very own store!

There will be 25 free tickets that include a $5 credit available when you RSVP through our website or Facebook event pages, starting tonight. Proof of vaccinations and masks will be required to attend this event. No need to fret is can’t make the event in person though, it will be livestreamed on our social media as well! Until then, get to know the resident writers a bit:

📝 Grace Stroup is a senior majoring in English and Religious Studies with a Concentration in Creative Writing. She is one of three featured residents within Short Story UNC. Her work has been featured in Cornell University’s literary magazine, Rainy Day and on Typlishly — an online literary magazine for established and emerging writers. You can find her in Greenlaw listening to her peers and professors or in Perennial making coffee most mornings.

🖋 Youna Fradin is a Franco-American writer from Asheville, NC. She is a senior at UNC Chapel Hill pursuing a degree in Creative Writing. Her life’s mission is to exist in the fluid spaces where poetry, memoir, and fiction intersect, where she believes this blending of the real and surreal is vital to answering the all-consuming question of the human condition and placing the human body in the limitless natural world it exists in. When she isn’t writing, you will most likely find her in the woods with her rescue dog, a corduroy jacket, and an earful of tunes.

📖 Katie Leonard is a Junior studying English Literature and philosophy with a creative writing minor. She is curious about the intersection of writing, ethics, and education and enjoys distilling big ideas in accessible, creative formulas. After graduation, she hopes to pursue her MAT to become a high school English teacher and write novels. You may find her in Wilson library or running across campus to a meeting.
